This 3-day tour will provide you with an overview of the Mekong Delta, a region that is part-land, part-water. The waters of the Mekong, famous for their floating markets, create a network of canals and arroyos connecting various tributaries. The Mekong land, on the other hand, is a tranquil mosaic of lush rice fields and orchards that you can explore, meeting a welcoming population rich in artisanal craftsmanship.

Experience the rhythm of life in the Mekong Delta with a boat trip to Tan Phong Island via the Cai Be floating market. Explore craft workshops and enjoy traditional Don Ca Tai Tu folk music.

8:00 AM: Depart for Cai Be. Motorboat excursion along a Mekong branch to discover the customs and daily life of the locals, including fishing and cargo transportation. Quick visit to the Cai Be floating market to understand local trading habits. Cruise to Tan Phong Island with stops at craft workshops where you can taste rice popcorn, coconut caramel, and visit a bee farm for honey tea.

Upon arrival in Tan Phong, visit Mr. Nam On's family. Enjoy tea and fresh fruits while listening to Don Ca Tai Tu folk music, intimately connected to the life and culture of the Mekong Delta residents. A short rowing boat trip through small canals and shaded areas follows. Lunch at an eco-lodge.

Take a walk in the eco-lodge garden, sampling freshly picked fruits like jackfruit, guavas, water apples, papayas, strawberries, mangosteens, and more.

1:00 PM: Bicycle ride along village trails to discover local activities, such as rice cake making and banana fiber hammock weaving. Visit Mrs. Thao's place for water hyacinth weaving. Continue your bike ride in the tranquility of nature.

3:00 PM: Board the boat to return to the Cai Be dock. Head to Can Tho.

Lunch

Boat excursion to the Cai Rang Floating Market, discovery of the local cocoa transformation, explore the Tra Su Nature Reserve

After breakfast, embark on a boat to visit the Cai Rang Floating Market, the largest in the entire Mekong Delta. In this market, each boat hangs its products on a branch (beo) to signal to buyers what it is selling.

This visit is a delight of colors, sounds, and smells that engage all the senses. A walking tour to visit a rice noodle factory (Hu Tieu), a local specialty.

Visit to a terrestrial market, famous for its wide variety of fruits, vegetables, fish, turtles, mice, snakes, and more.

Next, visit a cocoa plantation, learn about the local cultivation and transformation process of cocoa and chocolate, and enjoy a glass of hot chocolate.

Then, on the way to Tra Su with a stop to visit a Khmer pagoda with the beautiful "Gate of Heaven," enjoy the serenity of vast rice fields with sugar palm trees.

Explore the Tra Su Nature Reserve (Tra Su Melaleuca Forest), an ecological paradise that houses bat colonies, over 100 species of seabirds, endless waterways, and abundant vegetation. Walk and boat through this secluded forest amid partially submerged trees. It's an ideal opportunity to rechar.

7:00 AM: Cruise upstream on the Mekong by speedboat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh, the capital of Cambodia. You will arrive in Phnom Penh around 12:30 PM. For the Cambodia visa, you can obtain it on arrival at the border crossing.
