Itinerary

Morning: Bike ride towards Cam Kim island. You'll pedal through beautiful rural countryside, passing peaceful island villages behind bamboo hedges, rice fields, agricultural lands, areca gardens, and encountering water buffaloes and farmers working in the fields. First stop at the wood carving village of Kim Bong. Visit a woodworking workshop to admire the talents of artisans and learn more about mother-of-pearl craftsmanship and its inlay techniques. Then, other stops will be made at local families' homes in Tra Nhieu and Duy Vinh villages to discover daily life, the art of weaving reed mats, rice cracker making, and the crafting of bamboo basket boats. Visit a traditional wooden boat building yard.

Next, you'll cross from island to island by ferry or via lesser-known bridges made of wood or bamboo (floating bridge). Lunch with a local family. You'll enjoy green tea and indulge in a foot bath with medicinal herbs, a traditional therapeutic practice, for a pure moment of relaxation... From Tra Nhieu, you'll take a short cruise on the Thu Bon River to a nearby fishing village near a forest of water coconut palms. You'll board a woven bamboo "basket-boat," a round basket-shaped vessel that locals have been using for generations for fishing at sea. You'll peacefully cruise along picturesque small canals amidst mangrove landscapes, lagoons, and water coconut palms. You'll have the opportunity to try crab fishing like local fishermen and learn to make fun tools with coconut leaves. Return to Hoi An.
