Day 1: Hanoi – Ngoc Son Ngo Luong (L, D)
Our tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel, in Hanoi, early in the morning to start the journey to Ngoc Son Ngo Luong. After a few stops to visit villages, we will arrive at our destination around noon. First, we will stop at the Nature Reserve headquarters where park rangers will give us a brief introduction of the conservation program.
Then, off to Chieng Village where we will have lunch.
Our bus will station there, while we start our hike (duration: 2 to 3 hours). The scenery is wild and the path leads to the heart of the mountains, territory of the Muongs.
We will finally arrive at the top of a valley at the entrance of Mu Village, where we will take a well-deserved refreshment.
Hidden by rice fields along the way, a small river flows from the top of the valley to form a beautiful waterfall. The downstream river has natural pools wide enough for swimming.
We will continue downhill for another half an hour along beautiful rice terraces until reaching Sat Village. There, we will go to the house of a Muong family – our hosts for the night – located in a pleasant setting just meters from the river.
Dinner with our welcoming hosts and overnight at the homestay.
Day 2: Ngoc Son Ngo Luong – Pu Luong – Huou (B, L, D)
After enjoying a tasty breakfast, we will start a 2h-and-30min trek to explore the area and discover the daily life of the inhabitants. We will follow a small path leading to the entrance of the Pu Luong Nature Reserve. From there, we will go through forests, rice fields, the villages of Khay and Mon.
Lunch in Mon Village.
In the afternoon, we will continue for 3 hours and go through the lush forest up until reaching Huou Village, inhabited by the Thai ethnic group.
Dinner and overnight at a homestay.
Day 3: Huou – Pho Doan – Hanoi (B, L)
Wake up and have a good breakfast before starting a hike where you will see wonderful rice fields and visit water wheels.
We will reach Pho Doan around noon and have lunch there.
After that, we will head back to Hanoi.
We will reach the capital in late afternoon. End of tour.
