Known as one of the most wonderful places of Vietnam, Ha Giang is famous for many amazing mountainous landscapes and terraced fields. In every season of year, Ha Giang has a different attraction. However, there is a time called “golden season” in which everyone will go to visit or trek and discover terraces’ beauty in ripe season, especially Hoang Su Phi.

Hoang Su Phi is a rural district of Ha Giang province  in the northeastern region of Vietnam and near the Chinese border. The best time for visiting Hoang Su Phi is mainly from September to October when rice is changing to golden color and into the harvest. Hoang Su Phi not only help people here have good harvests but also offer an attraction for tourists. In the autumn, photographers over the country and foreigners rush here to trek and take photographs of impressive moments when the rice starts being ripe.

The pristine hills, barren rocky slopes were turned into the fertile rice with naturally round shape contraction winding and spreading far the eyes to the sky fall by hand, brains, sweat and diligence of ethnic minorities here. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism officially recognized terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi, Ha Giang as National Monument in 2012.

Terraces show the crystallization of creativity and diligence, the skill of agricultural production at a high level. However, the history of terraced fields in each ethnic group is different because of the time of migration, the characteristics and the farming practices that make up the unique characteristics of each plot. Unlike other places in the country, terraced fields in Hoang Su Phi are often seen on the precarious locations of mountains. You will must be overwhelmed by the view which are poetic, romantic and magnificent.
