Every year, on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar when the month is in the fullest and brightest, Vietnam and some other Asian countries celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. Mid-Autumn Festival is a special day for children. They is very expected to welcome this festival and it is also an occasion for adult to express love to their children. Mid-Autumn Festival originated from agricultural culture of the Vietnameses. At that time, the weather is cool and crops are waiting for harvest so that people celebrate the festival for everyone to dance and sing together. According to Vietnam customs, on Mid-Autumn Festival, the adults and parents will prepare many kinds of food, such as moon cakes, candies, biscuits, jellies and fruit like grapefruit, bananas, apples, longan fruit, mangoes, etc. Moon cake is the most important and special one in this festival. Moon cakes are made from flavour, meat, egg, fried fruit, sausage, green bean, pumpkin seeds. They taste very delicious and have many flavours. The meaning of moon cake is symbol of Luck, Hapiness, Health and Wealth on the Mid-Autumn day.

In addition, on the Mid-Autumn Festival, there are many lanterns decorated on the streets and the children are also provided many kinds of lantern such as star lanterns, flower lanterns and a lot of various funny masks like clown mask, lion mask, prince or princess mask for lantern parade on the full moon evening. The main activity is that children will take the colorful lantern, wear funny mask, perform the lion dance and sing the folk songs. Besides, many folk game like tug of war, bamboo dancing, skipping rope are also held for children to join in. How interesting the moment of festival is!
