All visitors to Myanmar must hold a passport valid for at least 6 months after the country exit scheduled date and have at least 3 blank pages.

Visa exemption:

Ordinary passport
Up to 30 days (any purpose, any port of entry):
Singapore, Vietnam.
Up to 30 days (tourism only, any port of entry):
Japan, Korea (Rep.), Hong Kong (SAR China), Macao (SAR China).
Up to 14 days (any purpose, air arrivals only – Yangon, Mandalay or Nay Pyi Taw International Airports)
Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Cambodia, Lao People's Dem. Rep., Philippines and Thailand.

Diplomatic and service category passports:
- Up to 90 days
Bangladesh, Colombia, India, Israel, Japan (diplomatic passport only), South-Korea, Morocco, Nepal, Russia, Serbia
- Up to 30 days
Belarus, Brazil, Cambodia, China, North-Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam

In any other case, a paying tourist visa is compulsory to visit Myanmar. We highly recommend to make it prior to your trip, online as an e-visa or from one of the Vietnamese diplomatic missions. 
A separate application with an authorization to leave your country is compulsory for children, even travelling under their parents' passports. It is free of charge for children under 7 years old.
Overriding the visa expiration date will be charged USD 3 as fine per extra day.

Visa on arrival:
The Burmese visa on arrival is single-entry only with a validity of 28 days for tourism purpose, 30 for business. It is non-renewable, and delivered at the international airports of Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw only.
Eligible countries for tourism visa on arrival: Australia, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, India, Italy, Luxembourg, New Zealand, Russian Fed., Spain and Switzerland.

Formalities and required documents:
- Application form, obtained from airlines in Myanmar or via www.mip.gov.mm,
- Two (2) ID pictures,
- Letter of invitation issued by the sponsoring company, or a letter of invitation issued by the Ministry when attending meetings, workshops, events or ceremonies,
- Copies of company registration, business license or permission to do business in Myanmar issued by the Ministry together with the application if working in Myanmar, 
- Identify the sponsor and position held within the company.

Online e-Visa:
The e-visa application online, if approved, will be notified per an official approval letter usually available online within 3 days. It has to be printed on plain paper and exchanged for the real visa at passport control upon the entry into the country.
The validity of this letter is 90 days and allows you to a stay up to 28 days on the spot for touristic purpose. Therefore, it is advised to carefully check the expected return date, no later than 3 months after the online application. 3 to 4 weeks before departure is generally recommended.
Burmese e-visa is single-entry only, non-renewable. Territorial access is allowed to the international airports of Yangon, Mandalay or Nay Pyi Taw as well as to the land border crossings of Tachileik, Myawaddy and Kawthaung from Thailand and Tamu and Rih Kaw Dar from India.

- Scanned copy of your color ID picture (less than 3 months old – size 4.6 x 3.8 cm)
- 50 USD for tourist visa, 70 for business, payable by credit card
