Buon Ma Thuot or Ban Me Thuat is located deep in
the Central Highlands, about 360 km from Sai
Gon. is the capital city of Dak Lak
Province, in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Its population is
approximately 300,000. The city is the largest in Vietnam's
Central Highlands region and is famous as the
regional "capital of coffee" Buon Ma
Thuot by far is relatively off the beaten track. But the area is
certainly
worth the trip.
Buon Ma Thuot offers the travelers the fresh
nature beauty characterized by temperate climate, waterfalls, rivers,
lakes and
national parks. Buon Ma Thuot is home the a number of

By the side of Lak lake is the sizeable the
M'nong Rlam village
of Jun with over 30 long
houses. Different from the M'nong Gar who live in on-ground houses, the
M'nong
Rlam live in longhouses which are built on stilts like the Edeh. Their
method
of building long houses has remained simple and consists mainly of
binding
bamboo and thatch for the roof and walls and constructing support
pillars and
framing with wood using tenon-mortise technique. None of the metal nail
is used
and the houses are cool and well-ventilated, thanks to the building
materials
of thatch and bamboo.
Lak Lake: Lak
Lake is one of the most
famous landscapes in the Central Highlands. The Lake
covers more than 500ha at an elevation of 500m above sea level.
It is on the National Road 27 – about 50km from Buon Ma Thuot. It was
this lake
that gave its name to DakLak province .
"Dak" in M'nong language means
water, river, stream or lake. "Lak" is the
name of a young man with
over whelming courage and strength who found the water resource for the
villagers in the area. So DakLak means LAK LAKE
in the M'nong language.
Thuy Tien
waterfall: It is about 7km from the heart
of Tam Giang hamlet (Krong Nang District) to the North-east, Thuy Tien
waterfall, a well-known landscape, possesses a poetic beauty impressing
deeply
in visitor’s soul. Coming to this place, visitors will enjoy the sound
of
murmurous spring in wide-majestic forest. From top of the falls, the
water is
pouring as a force-full picture of the Highland
sight.
Krong Kmar waterfall: Going upstream
to the Cu Yang Sin range, 3km from the heart of Krong Bong district, you
will
run into a beautiful landscape of Daklak - Krong Kmar falls. Originating
from
the highest top of majestic Cu Yang Sin range seems as the roof of the
Highlands. Krong Kmar spring is pouring down to the foot
of mountain forming Krong Kmar falls with a wild and poetic appearance.

Yok Don
national park: For quite along time now,
when tourists come to DakLak, they usually go to Buon Don. This is the
very
land possessing a large area of preserving nature environment, including
Yok Don National Park: This is the biggest

Dray Nur waterfall: Located about 25
km from the center of Buonmathuot city on the South, Dray Nur waterfall
is the
most impressive waterfall in the Central highlands. Dray Nur waterfall
is a
combination of 2 rivers named Krong Ana (female river)
and Krong No (male river), these mix each other creating the legendary
Serepok
river in the Central highlands. Dray Nur water fall has over 250 meters
of
length and 30 meters of height, linking two banks of Daklak and DakNong
provinces.
