100km from Nghia Lo, on the charming road N°32, lies Mu Cang Chai, home of more than 700 ha of rice terraces. The rice terraces of Mu Cang Chai, regarded as the most beautiful in Vietnam, have officially been recognized as National Heritage.

During the harvesting season, the ripe rice turns yellow while the new shoots are of a fresh green color. In Mu Cang Chai, the Black H’Mong ethnic group is the most represented. The best time to travel to Mu Cang Chai is from middle of May to the start of October.
