The Pu Luong Nature Reserve is in Thanh Hoa province, in the Ba Thuoc and Quan Hoa districts, not far from Mai Chau. It consists of two mountain ridges; only the ridges covered by forests are part of the reserve. The central valley is a large agricultural area where you can also find stilt houses dotting the land.

The karstic peaks ranges in altitude, from 60m to 1,667m for the highest. The trails going through Pu Luong Nature Reserve allow hikers to spend a great time amid a lush nature. The fauna and the flora of the primary forest are extremely diverse. Today, this place is an important site for the conservation of endangered species, such as the Delacour langur, whose population in Pu Luong was estimated at only 40 to 45 monkeys.
