Ba Be

Ba Be

Located at 240km from Hanoi, in Ba Be National Park (Ban Can province), it is one of the largest freshwater lake in the world. In spite of its calcareous soil and its location at 145m above sea level, Ba Be Lake never runs dry. It covers 500ha, its length is 8km and its width is 3km, while its depth varies between 20m and 30m.

Lang Son is province in North-East Vietnam that shares a border with China. It is a region made of mountains and dense forests, which make up almost 80% of its territory, and where a lot of valuable species of wood are found, but also home to wild animals (most notably tigers, leopards, bears and deer). Anise oil and yellow tobacco leaves are the local specialties.
